Robots Are Entering Human Spaces

For decades, robotics was largely an engineering discipline.

The industry’s greatest challenges centered on hardware, mechanics, control systems and automation. Success was measured by precision, speed, efficiency and reliability—qualities that enabled robots to transform manufacturing, logistics and industrial production.

Artificial intelligence can help robots perceive their surroundings.

Sensors allow them to detect movement. Advanced hardware enables increasingly sophisticated capabilities.

Yet none of these technologies alone determines whether people will adopt them. History repeatedly shows that successful technologies are not defined solely by technical excellence.

They succeed because they fit naturally into people’s lives. Robotics is beginning to follow the same path.
